Neurophilosophie an der Universitaet Hamburg
A simple description of Self-Organization and Consciousness (2004)
- a short and probably non scientific discourse
about som things that descibes: to live
base on the theory of living systems from H. R. Maturana and H. von Foerster and
their teams.
Usually these theories of self-organization and
Autopoiesis are hermetic and unbreakable.
But after the death of Heinz von Foerster and Francisco Varela, and after
several cryptic books
ab. this themes time has come to form descriptions that opens the content to a
broad public.
They will be published soon with the title: EXISTENCE and avaiable in
bookstores.
This spech is a part from it, for the group
Neurophilosophy in the university of Hamburg,
to make such terms as observer and self-equilibration more transparent.
Some critics places this themes to a critical
constructivism. But radical at most are perhaps some
predictions that lays on hand when thinking about this.- and in ref. to thi
field everybody is allready
constructing permanently. So this speach cannot become too wild.
But it could be a good idea to eat something before.
The session will end with a discussion about the
relevance of this theories within the
neurophilosophy.
Thinking - Lerning - Consciousness from the view of Self-Organization (2006)
- a part of the actual discussion in the workgroup neurophilosophy about what really is functioning.
Living beings basically control them selfs and
are autonomous.Viewen from outside they are forced
to select. So for every observer they stay on living while consumpting several
elements as food and so on.
This contradicts those approaches that mainly ask
for external controllers/reasons and causer of phenomena.
They easily lead to solutions climbing up to such unaccaptable declarations
like: man has no free will.
Because if i do accept the other (every other) in a full way without switching
into a logic of language that
pleases those neuro-scientists more, it become obvious that the actual
neuro-scientists work with a
inappropriate reference-frame!
In the face of ab. 6 bill. persons that heave a chance to play a role in my
actual frame of reference - if
i deny their own free will i need not to take any consideration any more. But i
AM the 6.Bill.-one on this
planet and i do not accept this!
So i argue for a description ab. the of
phenomena of the dayly life that refers to the theory of self-organization
of H. von Foerster and the theory of living, self-equilibrating systems from
H.R. Maturnana (who has had
some speaches at this university).
Such/this systems are working in a fully
self-referential way and i use this functioning to produce
an observer together with the public, that allows to look on our own
actual process of recognition..
There are two cathegories that are often related
to this theme: Holism and constructivism.
Both, Maturana and von Foerster often insisted that they don't
accept constructivism. (On this
part it dissolves completely).
This speach will show in a pursuable way how speaking/learning/thinking
(=existance) work in one
coherent dynamic. As near to that process as it is possible in language. Holism
is one of several
similar sub-sections of this dynamic. Nothing else -
and not reverse.
The scientific relevance of this themes is huge, as the mass of internet-links show.
Safety-advise: In this 1,5 to 2 hours nothing
will disappear ore cropped away. All phenomena
you know will stay on, but it could be a change in the suspension.

Looking through the Apparatus of Feelings (2007)
"Feelings are allways!"
So thinking, actioning and planning allways work
through feelings. In this everybody is his own
master. Just the question "what are feelings" can only be answered by
someone who him self has
and allready does know feelings. So every approach to let explain my own
feelings from someone
external is nonessencial! Because he speaks through a similar nebular as he
wants to explain from
and to me. Sometimes that can produce a lot of stories, of wich some can make it
into the news
("another big caso of..."), but it is not very evident.
There are some theories within the field of
biology from the 1960ies about controlling, cognition and living
that show that feeling is a required part of a global dynamic of living systems.
This is handled in different
ways but cannot be enhanced ore somehow corrected. Living systems control
themselves. Every external
person is an observer to this. For him he describes those acting-with-feelings
as a coordination of co-
ordination of actions. This is the scientific domain of cybernetics (second
order cy.) ore in short:
Self-Organization.
This does not explain any feeling, but prepares to a lot of strange and
unpredicted behavior that people
are confronted with, external and internal.
The theme is complex, feelings are complex (what
else did you expect).
In the theory of self-equilibrating living systems is speeking, feeling and
thinking first of all the same (to-
gether with a lot more we simply call senses).
Later on with in the communication and interaction with other beings they will
be departed into the
chunks we are used to.
But the patterns of learning this within a lifetime are often similar and
recognizable. Today this could
be fixed into words and be observed. That allows beings to plan within a sure
state also in difficult
situations.
It has become public that you can controll people
very effective in letting-them-let something. Also it has
reached most families that children grow to more usable persons if the parents
let them coordinate this
by themselves ("letting them go"). But that there is a biological
dynamic, permanently active, that makes
sense for such an coordination of coordination has not gone as popular.
Additionally there are hardly other scientific domains where it is possible to
show up in language
global dynamics of the pre-language-area, allowing a realtime-observing of the
emerging of actual
speach in reference to predicted patterns.
This discourse shows that in dayly language.
Of course there will be some remarks about the catch-words of this theme:
Desire - love - obsession - trust - exitement - awareness...
